We are recruiting a Head of Digital Technology & AI to lead our digital transformation and the effective use of technology, automation and AI across the business.
In this senior role, you will be MKO’s lead on digital capability, working closely with senior leadership and business area experts to identify, prioritise and deliver practical technology solutions that improve efficiency, quality and decision-making. You will ensure that digital initiatives deliver measurable value for the company.
As MKO’s digital function develops, you will build and lead a digital technology team and progressively take on broader responsibility for IT oversight and governance.

Key Responsibilities
Digital Transformation Strategy and Leadership
- Develop and drive the execution of MKO's digital transformation and AI strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and priorities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to our senior leadership team on digital technology opportunities, risks and investment decisions, including the application of AI, automation, cloud technologies and data analytics.
- Provide leadership in embedding digital innovation and thinking, continuous improvement and confident adoption of new tools and ways of working across MKO.
- Establish and maintain robust standards for digital delivery, data governance, cybersecurity and compliance, contributing to MKO’s wider risk management and data integrity objectives.
- Build and manage effective relationships with technology partners and service providers, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Work closely with teams across MKO to identify, assess and prioritise opportunities where automation, AI and digital tools can deliver meaningful operational and strategic benefit.
- Lead the design and implementation of practical digital, automation and AI solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Oversee and contribute to the development of scripts, tools, and integrations that underpin efficient business operations.
- Evaluate and recommend AI platforms and tools appropriate to MKO's scale, needs, and values.
- Lead the development of MKO's AI roadmap, including use case evaluation and pilot coordination, ensuring AI systems meet data integrity, ethics, and cybersecurity standards.
- Establish and lead our internal digital technology capability, and as the function grows, recruit, mentor and support team members.
- Progressively take responsibility for the oversight of IT operations and infrastructure, ensuring systems are reliable, secure and aligned with business needs.
- Build scalable digital processes and internal digital capabilities over time, reducing reliance on external support while maintaining high standards of delivery.
What we’re looking for in you
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience leading the delivery, implementation and integration of enterprise-scale digital and technology solutions, including significant experience with AI and emerging technologies.
- Proven experience designing, delivering and implementing AI, automation, or digital transformation solutions that deliver tangible business value
- Strong technical understanding, with the ability to engage at a hands-on level where required and to set clear technical direction for others
- Experience working across multiple business functions and translating operational problems into technology solutions.
- Proven ability to drive user adoption and behavioural change associated with new tools, systems and ways of working
- Experience assessing, selecting and managing technology platforms, vendors or delivery partners
- Sound understanding of data governance, cybersecurity principles and data protection requirements
- A collaborative, pragmatic leadership style, with the ability to influence, prioritise and make balanced decisions.
